Satin shorts are you tempted?

If you’ve been browsing the shops lately, you’ll probably have spotted satin (or silky) shorts everywhere.

I’ll admit, when I first saw them I wasn’t sure. But the more I see them styled, the more I love them. They’re the perfect balance of relaxed and polished. You get all the comfort of a pair of shorts, but the satin fabric instantly makes them feel more elevated. They’re light, breathable, ideal for warmer day and incredibly versatile.

I’ve been wearing mine throughout my holiday, styled simply with a tank top or T-shirt during the day. But they work just as well for an evening out. Here I’ve styled lace satin shorts and a fitted blouse for dinner and (swipe ⬅️) racer style cream satin shorts with a contrasting brown trim, paired with an elevated cream tank for a chic, effortless evening outfit.

The beauty of satin shorts is that they don’t need much. They work brilliantly with the wardrobe basics you probably already own, making them one of those pieces you’ll reach for again and again.

As always, it’s not about buying into every trend. Shorts aren’t for everyone, particularly shorter style shorts. It’s about choosing the ones that suit your style personality, your lifestyle and make getting dressed feel easy.

One jacket. Seven outfits. ❤️

This @zara red cropped jacket has been in my wardrobe for around 3 years now, and if you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll probably have seen it pop up in plenty of my posts!

It’s one of those pieces that works hard for me season after season, and I nearly always receive compliments when I wear it.

There are two reasons why it works so well:

✨ The colour — red is one of my wow colours. It brings warmth, energy and brightness to my complexion.

✨ The shape — the cropped length sits at my waist, which works well with my shape. It highlights my waistline and creates flattering proportions.

This is exactly why understanding your colours and body shape can make such a difference. When you know what works for you, getting dressed becomes easier, shopping becomes more intentional, and the pieces you buy earn their place in your wardrobe for years rather than months.
